YOUR HOST SCHEDULE
45 minutes, made for your group
8 players · 2 teams · Charades + drawing
Family / gentler pace
Team sizes: 4 + 4 players. Make random teams (opens a new tab)↗
Bring along
- One phone, tablet, or computer with the game open
- Paper and pencils, or a whiteboard and markers
- A place to keep the prompt hidden from guessers
- Water and a little space to get comfortable
- 0–5MINUTES
Get ready together
Make 2 teams (4 / 4 players). Agree on the rules, pick the first performers, and open the first game. Set its team count and timer to the values below before starting.
- 5–21MINUTES
Play charades
Set 2 teams and 90-second rounds. Play 4 rounds per team, alternating teams and changing performers. Each turn includes 30 seconds for passing the device, reading the next prompt, and getting ready. Stop after the same number of rounds for every team.
4 turns per team · 90-second rounds · 2 teams
Open charades (opens a new tab)https://everythingisrandom.mcqueencloud.com/activities/family-charades/ - 21–23MINUTES
Switch to drawing
Hand out paper and pencils, open the drawing game, and set its team count and timer. Start fresh scores for this game.
- 23–38MINUTES
Play drawing
Set 2 teams and 120-second rounds. Play 3 rounds per team, alternating teams and changing performers. Each turn includes 30 seconds for passing the device, reading the next prompt, and getting ready. Stop after the same number of rounds for every team.
3 turns per team · 120-second rounds · 2 teams
Open drawing (opens a new tab)https://everythingisrandom.mcqueencloud.com/activities/family-drawing/ - 38–43MINUTES
Take a break or catch up
Use this time for slower handoffs, reading help, or a water break. It is spare time, not another promised round. If the group runs late, finish a complete team cycle and agree together what to shorten.
- 43–45MINUTES
Wrap up
Celebrate the best guesses and funniest moments. Keep each game's scores separate; different timers and prompts make the totals hard to compare. Let players who had fewer performing turns go first next time.
A few host notes
- This is a 45-minute estimate including setup, 30-second handoffs, a break, and wrap-up. Longer discussions or extra reading help can extend it.
- Game links open the regular preset, not your planner settings. Check the displayed team count and timer before each game; set the values in this plan yourself.
- Family links use easy prompts. Give reading help before the timer starts, allow seated gestures, and let anyone pass an unfamiliar prompt.
- 14 performing turns are planned (7 per team). There is room for everyone to act or draw at least once if each team rotates performers before anyone repeats.
- Keep the screen hidden from guessers. Score within each timed round using the online game's rules; the printable kit uses different one-point-per-turn rules.
- The games have finite decks and can run out during a long plan. Jot down scores before using Reset game: it clears scores and makes every card available again. Agree on a fresh set of equal turns for all teams, using the remaining time.

FROM PLAN TO PLAY
How to run your game night
- Choose the time you can actually spend, including setup. For a relaxed group, start with the family pace.
- Make the teams shown in the plan. Uneven group sizes differ by just one person; invite someone new to act or draw each turn.
- Open a game and check its timer and team settings. Keep each prompt hidden from the guessers and give every team the same number of turns.
- Use the buffer for explanations or a break. If you start late, drop a complete round for every team instead of cutting one team short.
